Shirley Gonzalez, LCSW

Shirley Gonzalez is a graduate of Columbia University where she received her Masters Degree in Social Work in 1993. She has extensive training in psychotherapy from the New York School for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis, Postgraduate Center for Mental Health and National Institute for the Psychotherapies. She also trained in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy at The Albert Ellis Institute. She has a Board Certification in clinical Social Work from the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work.

She is a bilingual (Spanish) psychotherapist with a focus on understanding historical and present cognitive and behavior patterns that create life stresses and blocks. She also focuses on enhancement of natural strengths that are the tools to living a more fulfilling life. She specializing in working with individuals experiencing Anxiety and Depression, Problems related to Marriage, Divorce, Parenting, Self-Destructive Patterns, Life Transitions, Trauma, Grief and Bereavement, Career Decisions, Creative Blocks, Problems related to Physical or Sexual Abuse and Problems related to Addictions.
